Campaign Story
The programme aims to buy goats and seeds for orphaned families in Congo and Zimbabwe – and improve a child’s potential in life. Malnutrition is a serious and widespread problem in both Congo and Zimbabwe, exacerbated by COVID19 and the gift of goats and gardens and the training provided to beneficiaries is aimed at fighting malnutrition.
The Foundation hopes that goat milk will allow orphaned children to receive animal protein. Goat manure fertilizes gardens and provides essential nutrients to children and their guardians. Plants grown to feed the goats and families reduce soil erosion and help improve small farm production. The project includes distribution on seeds, as well as goats and the training necessary for goat rearing.
The project helps the children to grow physically and to lead healthier lives. Families get an opportunity to earn extra income and after reproducing, each family passes on three goats on to another family that would have already received training on goat rearing.
